As Dado's getting old he needs the help of his grandchildren to blow out the candles on his cake! Apparently they think he needs help eating it too...

My gorgeous little neice had her second birthday today which she celebrated with all her friends. Thankfully the weather cleared up just in time so we had a wonderful garden party with lots of bubbles, toys and games. I was surprised to learn that she's got a new boyfriend, Alex (pictured). Watching them together, I can see that she's going to be a real man-eater! I pity her poor father when she gets older!

It was Izzy's first birthday party this afternoon and all the family came to celebrate. After such a bad summer, thankfully the weather was perfect. Little Miss was on great form and loved being the centre of attention. She received lots of lovely presents, including the beautiful dress you see her in here and a wonderful monkey cake. She actually seemed just as interested in the wrapping paper as the presents themselves! Leo also had lots of fun at the party as he got to eat all of her new presents, met his Aunt Cathy for the first time (technically first cousin once removed if you're into that sort of thing) and even received a present of his own. My neice Izzy was baptised this weekend. The ceremony was held in St Michael's church, Stinsford, where Thomas Hardy is buried and where my brother got married in March last year. Here you can see Izzy with my mum, looking very happy indeed. The robe she is wearing was knitted for me by my Aunty Arlette and has done the rounds around the entire family.
